Meet Tresca, Spa Front of House Manager, Spa Illuminata at Danesfield House Hotel & Spa
How did your career in Spa begin?
I started my career working as a therapist which is what made me fall in love with the Spa industry. The whole idea of a tranquil and peaceful environment for people wanting to get away from it all and escape the stresses and strains of the outside world is very important and something I am passionate about.
What is an average day like for you?
The average day involves greeting guests, assisting our members and ensuring the smooth running of the spa. Preparation is key and attention to detail goes a long way in making sure our guests are getting the most out of their special day.
Tell us about a good day and unusual day in your role?
A good day was being part of a spa retreat for six guests involving yoga, meditation, crystal and reiki healing along with a delicious and healthy lunch. To see the smooth running of a day dedicated to these six guests really showed how important it is to take some time out for yourself and relax.
An unusual day was when the Ferrari members club spent the weekend at the hotel and spa. The grounds were covered with glamourous super cars and hundreds of people picnicking on the beautiful lawns overlooking the river. There was an amazing atmosphere and a huge sense of celebration.
Tell us about your working environment?
I am very lucky to work in an extremely picturesque setting with acres of land overlooking the river. The beautiful spa terrace is a sun trap in the summer and a secret gem of peace and quiet. We have a stress free approach from the moment you walk through the door.
What would you be doing if you weren’t doing this?
If I wasn’t in the Spa industry I had always liked the idea of working as a flight attendant providing great customer service to those travelling for work or going on holiday. I believe the same level of service is needed in the spa as on aircrafts.
