Meet Lizzie Falconer, Founder, Beautiful Thinking
17 years ago, something extra-ordinary happened to me, that I describe as the beginning of my path of enlightenment. Having had a rather troubled childhood with a miserable time at a strict boarding and an extremely challenging relationship with my mother, I felt that I needed to find a sense of purpose and peace.
After my youngest child was born, I had started to wonder more about life and the Universe. I questioned - Why am I here? What should I be doing? With grandparents who were both a little “out there”, I was introduced at a very young age to a belief and understanding that might be, for some, less conventional. I discovered that I had a deep intuition and was able to connect and “read” people. Once I had started on this path, you couldn’t get me off. I read books, talked to enlightened beings and practiced meditation, and with that my perception of my past totally changed, I felt re-born actually.
I’ve learnt how complex we all are and how our minds and our souls are two totally different parts of the same being. Our brain is like a computer that has been programmed from everything external in our lives. Our parents, our teachers, our peers and our experiences, have encoded it with stuff, and not all of it has been processed properly. So, when we are faced with challenges in the here and now, we can become upset and confused, we can choose coping mechanisms that are unhealthy for us and most importantly we forget to seek answers from our real self, our soul.
Connecting with your mind and your soul is essential to changing how you feel. As Carl Jung said “Who looks outwards, dreams; who looks inwards, awakens.” I believe that looking inwards to your soul can deeply heal your mind and body. Science is discovering how beneficial meditation and hypnotherapy are. Last year for example; the BMJ (British Medical Journal) found hypnotherapy to be the best form of relief from Menopausal Hot Flushes after HRT. Meditation has been proven to change to structure of the brain too and in Russia the study of hypnotherapy on changing the very structure of the body’s DNA is having some exciting results.
I believe that we can heal ourselves; if negative emotions can have a detrimental effect on our physical form then isn’t this proof enough, that we can reverse our bodies into a state of well-being with a positive thought process? I’m on a mission to change the way people heal, by changing the way they think. To think more beautifully, and to bring this into the world of Spas where in conjunction with physical therapy in the form of a therapeutic massage, the client listens to a hypnotic meditation, which massages the brain at the same time. The ultimate treatment, that continues to heal and change the cellular structure long after the client has left the room. If we all became beautiful thinkers both our inner and outer world would be a more beautiful place.
